‘Tis the season for gift cards! Whether you’re stocking up on restaurant gift cards for your in-laws or Amazon gift cards for nieces and nephews, you’ve no doubt got a few cards to buy for the people on your nice list this year. Before you purchase, consider these three options for making the most of your MilesAway rewards.
Use Your MilesAway Card for Purchases
Buying gift cards directly from the retailer (if you’re venturing out) is always a great option. The perks? You don’t have to wait for shipping, which can take extra time during any holiday season. And there’s no concern about your gift cards getting lost or stolen in the mail, which can be a bit of a worry since they are non-refundable.
Should you go this route, make sure you use your MilesAway card for all of your gift card purchases to get reward points that you can spend on … more gift cards! (Or any other reward you choose.)
Get Cash Back
Your gift card purchases can earn you cash back in the form of a statement credit. Use your MilesAway card when you buy gift cards, which will earn you reward points. Then, “cash out” for a statement credit. This is an even sweeter deal if you’re able to take advantage of gift card deals sometimes offered by retailers this time of year.
Use Our Transaction Eraser
Combine the points you currently have with the points you received from your purchase to “erase” your transaction. Redeem your MilesAway Reward points, then choose a qualifying purchase transaction of $25 or more. The credit will post to your account within 14 business days.
